Finish The Year Strong

Full disclosure I’m not a fan of New Year’s Resolutions. That said, I’ve come to see real value in finishing the year strong.

Here we are at the cusp of month 12 with 4 weeks to put your routines solidly in place for 2024. As a creature of habit, I find all the steady routines I implement add up to a big win over the year. You ask, give some examples.

  • Take my lunch to work every work day
  • Make time to enjoy my coffee every morning in a relaxed manner not on the run
  • Commit to some type of outdoor activity every weekend
  • Write a sticky note daily with health priorities on top
  • Read every night before going to sleep
  • Work my other weekly workouts around my committed strength training on Fridays
  • Up every day at 5:00 am!

I’m definitely ole school and regularity energizes me. We all must find our ways to stay motivated and engaged. In a 24-7 constant battle for your attention use this last month to simplify and pare down what will allow you to finish the year strong.

Here’s just a few suggestions with the notion of “strong” in mind.

  • Focus on getting good protein at each meal
  • Commit to some form of strength training every week
  • Restore in the outdoors regularly
  • Find a morning routine that allows you to breath, be calm and focus
  • Create a calendar that tracks your consistency

I’ve decided my motto for 2024 is the following:

Turn Your Motivation Into Consistency!
